For more than 70 years, Outremont has been the adopted neighborhood of 7000 ultra-Orthodox Jews who often gather in the places of worship on Bernard Street. Their ever-increasing presence creates tensions among those who do not understand their values, deepening an ever-widening gap between the Hasidim and the other citizens of Outremont.
